DIY Fragrance Sachets

Are you tired of the overpowering and artificial scents that commercial air fresheners leave behind? Did you know that you can achieve the same result with a natural alternative that is not only healthier but also cheaper and more sustainable?

Dried herbs and spices have been used for centuries as a natural way to add fragrance to our homes. Not only do they smell wonderful, but they also offer additional benefits such as aromatherapy and insect-repellent properties. By making your own fragrance sachets, you can customize the scent and create a more natural and harmonious environment.

To make your own fragrance sachets, you will need some dried lavender and cardamom, some thinner cotton fabric (14×30 cm / 6×12 in), sewing supplies, 2 buttons, some yarn, some tape, and a spoon.

First, take the 30×14 cm / 12×6 inch piece of fabric and fold both longer sides towards the center of the fabric. This will create two pockets. Then, fold the fabric in half and put some dried lavender and cardamom into the folded pocket. Make sure to fill both pockets evenly to ensure an equal distribution of scent.

Next, take a piece of yarn and cut it to a suitable length. Fold it in half and tie the ends into a knot. This will create a loop that will serve as the handle for your sachet. Place the loop on the fabric and fold the fabric twice to make the handle for the sachet. Secure the yarn with some stitches to make sure it stays in place.

To add some decoration to your sachet, sew on two buttons at the front. This will also help to keep the sachet closed and prevent the herbs from falling out.

Your natural fragrance sachet is now ready to use! Hang it in your closet, place it in your drawers, or simply leave it in any room of your house. You can even use it in your car or office to add a natural scent to your surroundings.

By making your own fragrance sachets, you not only avoid the harmful chemicals found in commercial air fresheners but also contribute to reducing waste and promoting sustainability. You can also experiment with different combinations of herbs and spices to find your perfect scent. So why not give it a try and enjoy the natural and refreshing scent of dried herbs and spices in your home?
